4 ladies travelling to Paris for 1st time, looking for recommendations of what area to stay in that feels safe and close to most attractions. Considering Montmarte area. What hotels would you recommend that are reasonably priced and do you know of any that would sleep for comfortably without getting 2 rooms. We will be there for 4 nights. Also any must sees other than the Eiffel Tower, Louve, etc. Considering see a play while there. Is there any theatre you would recommend over the other?

Montmartre area is fine - I would not dare say otherwise as there is a %26quot;secret society%26quot; of TA members, I think exclusively female, who say it is the best place to stay.

I like it but I would prefer the 4th arrondisement (the Marais) or the 5th (Latin Quarter) or 6th (St Germain) for a first visit to Paris.
