Ascension weekend ? May 25th to 28th?

Will be in Paris for the first time from May 21st to 28th. Planning to do the usual tourist thing during the week. (eg 3 museums, Versailles, Mont Matre, Eiffel tower, etc) Was hoping to relax and walk around cafes and shops in Latin Quarter, St Germain and Montparnasse area on Saturday 27th. Then on Sunday, go to the Porte de Vanves flea market.

Would the ascension weekend have any effect on my plan? Will the areas I want to visit on Saturday turn dead because of the long weekend? Are the flea market still open on that Sunday? Thanks.

The flea market will be open on Sunday, even though it is a holiday weekend.

Most likely, Paris will be quieter on those extended weekends, but everything should be open like normal (except tiny shops maybe). The good part is: there should be significantly less Parisians since most of them will be out of town! Yeepee!

The Versailles Palace gardens have an extra day scheduled for fountains being turned on for Thursday 25 May.
