shopping

I am taking my 16 y/o daughter to Paris for a few days and need info about (what else)shopping! Where are the markets to get the fun clothes and funky things that only Paris can offer. She wants Dior my wallet doesn%26#39;t!

Thanks for all the info in here about the Museum Pass!

Hi!

If your daughter is looking for upscale name brands, you may want to try a place like Moutons a cinq pattes - they carry used designer duds. Check out the website for locations: www.mouton-a-cinq-pattes.info/index1.html.

For new items, your best bet may be at a department store like Galeries Lafayette, Au Printemps or Le Bon Marche. They have all the designers under one roof and you can sometimes find a deal.

If it%26#39;s an affordable french look you%26#39;re going for, try Monoprix. They have the latest fashions (still ahead of the US) for less. (But we%26#39;re not talking Dior here.)

I also found this website http://www.chicshoppingparis.com/ It may be of some help. They offer what look to be fun shopping tours but for 350 Euros... yikes!

There are also a few outlet stores to be found - I remember a few in the 6th Arr. For the life of me, I%26#39;m blanking on what they are called in french! Can someone help me out?

Good luck!

Hi luvtrvel,

You may be interested in the stores on Rue d%26#39;Alésia in the 14th...there you%26#39;ll find the French designer outlets. Mainly names you%26#39;d know if you lived here, but not intergalactic names like Dior (sorry!). Still not incredibly cheap, but significantly less than you%26#39;d find elsewhere.
