what to do sat./sun

Hi. we will be in Paris tues. 4/18 leaving early the following mon. We plan to visit all the very popular museums and sights during the weekdays to (hopefully) avoid large crowds. Can anyone suggest the sights that might not be quite so mobbed on sat/sun? Thanks all

Dear Magstar:

I like to go to the parks on Sunday, especially the Luxembourg Gardens. It is so much fun to watch the children sail boats on the large round pond in front of the palace.

I feel like a %26quot;real%26quot; Parisian spending time there. I also enjoy strolling through the Tuilleries on the weekends.

Also, beware, museums like the D%26#39;Orsay and the Louvre are crowded every single day they are open. I found that it%26#39;s best to go either very early-as soon as they open- or to go to the Louvre when it is open during the evening, say around 6:00.

Just being in Paris is a treat. It%26#39;s fun just to wander around the neighborhoods, like the Marais and St. Germain des Pres. It does get rather packed in the Latin Quarter on Saturdays, so I avoid it. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll find plenty to see and do.

Bon chance and bon voyage!

There is a tour of the Opera Garnier at 11:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The building is an exquisite work of art. There were only four of us on our tour. You buy tickets just inside the door. No reservations needed.
