can anyone give me some advice on the best route and where to stay for a night stop en-route please?

It shouldn%26#39;t take you more than five hours to make the trip, I think. Honfleur would be a good place to stop overnight. It%26#39;s close to the direct route and an enjoyable town with good restaurants. Take a look at Les Maisons de Lea, www.lesmaisonsdelea.com It is right in the center of Honfleur.
For route directions go to www.viamichelin.com
Bonne route!

Thanks for the tip IR, agree bout the timing (5hrs) but we%26#39;ve a 2 hrs drive this side of the channel as well and with 2 small kids, so we think thats abou too much for them and us! (%26quot;have we got there yet%26quot;!). We%26#39;ve now found a nice little place to stay in Neufchatel en Bray, about half way down.
