Hotel in Paris

We are going to Europe Mid May and planed to stay in Paris for a few nights. Any suggestion on good-buy hotels? Reasonal priced, clean, convenient.

Look up on Expeida. How about Holiday Inn Express in the city center? How about Novotel Hotel?

Appreciate any advice.

The Novotel chain can be relied on--rooms are of a decent size, although baths are cramped. Some rooms include a queen-sized bed and an additional daybed/sofa, which is very useful. You will find them quite clean, and the buffet breakfasts are a good value

What is your actual price range? There are many other possibilities.

Paris is a very popular topic. I have to dig the post out from way under - even though it was posted less than 24 hours ago :)

Underhill, thank you very much for your reply.

Our budget is uder $150/night for the hotel. Which area/district is good to stay?

Thanks again.

Perhaps the nicest district is the 6th. You should be able to find a few hotels within your price range; try the Bonaparte (the web site doesn%26#39;t work well; you need to call or fax for a reservation) and Le Regent.

|||

The Hotel Le Regent%26#39;s cheapest rooms are their standard types. The rooms are very small (approx. 10 sq. m.) so I would think if the size is of no importance then you%26#39;ll like it as the area is excellent. Only their %26#39;luxury%26#39; rooms are good sizes (approx. 20 to 22 sq. m.).

You can also check a variety of hotels at the two following sites where you can compare hotels with budgets. Then you can email the hotels directly; there is no booking fee for doing so btw:

Rivergod -

Do a search for a thread with the topic %26quot;best arrondissement for 1st time tourists%26quot; or something similar.

There is a lengthy post there discussing the merits of various areas to stay.

Rivergod,

Take a look at Hotel Muguet in the 7th. Very clean and in your budget range. Easy access to Metro and good local restaurants in area. At breakfast you will be surrounded by people who will understand you. Easy walk over to Tour Eiffel. We would pick up wine, bread, cheese and pastry and go over and watch the lights come on. Great area. Have a good trip.

All,

Thank you very much for the tips. I will check them out.

I understand that the Muguet has remodeled their rooms so they should be even nicer now.
