Mont St. Michel - staying at the Mont

I can%26#39;t quite figure out which hotels are on the site and which are in town. My mother absolutey MUST stay on the Mont...any suggestions. We%26#39;ll spend about $175.00US and go real cheap for the rest of our trip. Thanks very much!

I don%26#39;t have any answers and actually this is the same question I would love answered. :) Hope we find out. :) I tried the net and found a direct site but it was in french. So I am lost too about accomadations. I too would love to experience the MONT on the MONT and not from afar at night.

On this website: http://www.mont-saint-michel-baie.com/

scroll down to %26quot;HOTELS et RESTAURANTS : établissements se trouvant à l’intérieur du Mont Saint Michel%26quot; which lists 8 hotels located within the Mont. Not all the links work if you click on them. You may have to cut and paste. Some of those hotel sites are bilingual.

Hey, no one says it%26#39;s easy. They don%26#39;t want people to overcrowd the place :)

Rick Steves 2006 France book lists five places to stay ON the Mont. I%26#39;m now trying to make reservations as well. Good luck.

Hotel des Terrasses Poulard

Hotel St Pierre / Hotel Croix Blanche

Hotel du Mounton Blanc

Restaurant le St Michel

Hotel la Vieille Auberge

I strongly urge you to change your plans. Mont St Michel is absolutely great, a %26quot;must see%26quot; in France, so do go. But it is grossly over commercialised and nothing at all to do with %26quot;real%26quot; France. Save you money and get a hotel in a real French town.
