Help me find the right hotel!

My family is going to Paris mid-July. Have two teenage daughers 16 %26amp; 19 who like a hotel close to shopping, transit, cafes, etc. I want one centralized to all the attractions to either walk or grab transit. Will need to get two rooms, so would like to stay around $200/night/eacg, but want a nice newer hotel with all amenities. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

There is a thread currrently going comparing the Hotel de Fleurie and the Hotel Minerve for a similar family. Scroll down until you come to it. It shouldn%26#39;t be far and either of these might be just what you are looking for.

The Hotel de Fleurie is a bit more central but also quite a bit more expensive. Should still be within your budget though.

The Relais Saint Jacques is in the Latin Qtr. or 5th district. I stayed there in mid-July 2005. The hotel offers wonderful summer rate discounts including either free Continental or American buffet breakfasts in the rates. Location is excellent. It%26#39;s just a few blocks to the Jardin du Luxembourg and Seine as examples. Prestige rooms are lots better than Privilege rooms btw. You can request rooms with views and/or balconies too. Staff members are very warm, friendly, and helpful. My Prestige room with Pantheon view cost 140 euro with the breakfast last July. Bathrooms are very modern with rust colored marble and they offer plenty of amenities such as sewing kits, Roger %26amp; Gallet soaps and shampoos, etc. The rate falls within your budget per room/night for summertime.

Most newer hotels are of the chain variety, having been purpose-built rather than converted from older buildings. You might look at one of the Novotels; they have reasonably sized rooms, a/c, and good buffet breakfasts.

For what it is worth, I recommend the Hotel Millesime, left bank 6th arrondisement, on rue jacob. It is a charming hotel, air-conditioned which is a big plus, around the corner from metro and bus line near St. Germain des Pres, famous cafes, Brasserie Lipp, aux Deux Magots and an easy walk to Musee d%26#39;Orsay and Rodin Museum in one direction and to the Louvre and Notre Dame in the other. Also in your price range. You should look at their website. I%26#39;d go back there tomorrow...

Am enjoying reading all the info. Checking out every hotel that is suggested. Thanks so much and keep it coming if you have more great hotels!

Dear Missatlanta,

I stayed with my niece at the Best Western Jardin de Cluny, which is located on a quiet side street in the Latin Quarter. It is close to many sights, cafes and restaurants. A metro station is within 2 blocks. We really enjoyed the location as well as the hotel, itself.

Bon voyage!
