information please?

Staying in paris mainly for the rolling stones concert between 02/06/06 to 05/06/06.

Could anybody reccomend a decent hotel.Looking at the moment at hotel saint - cristophe, hotel du pantheon,

Looking at the latin quarter ,would this be a good option and would it be convient to get to %26amp; back from the state de paris where the concert is being held.

Also any tips on taxis from the airport etc.

Any reccomendations for nice wine bars %26amp; reasonably priced restaurants %26amp; is it true that champagne is cheaper in france than the uk.

Thanks for any response.

Saint-Christophe and Panthéon are both well located to get to the Stade de France. Use RER line B (direct line).

What airport will you be flying in, CDG or Orly?

Lots of places in the Quartier Latin, Saint-Germain to eat, drink, have fun.

Depending on how chic the place is, count with some 8-12€ for a glass of champagne.

See you at the concert! :o)

Thanks for the info, would it be cheaper to buy bottles of champagne than classes? and is there any good local one%26#39;s i should be looking out for instead of branded %26lt;moet, lanson%26gt; champagnes.

Also a friend has reccomended i try a place i believe is called l%26#39;orange apparantly it consists of gardens %26amp; a museum.

Sorry for all the questions.

From CDG, you%26#39;ll be taking the RER (line B) as well, in case you decide to stay somewhere in the 5th. Incidentally, you%26#39;ll see the Stade de France on your right hand side, when travelling into the city.

Bottles of champagne purchased at a grocery store will obviously be cheaper, sure. Ask your hotel for some ice, in case you want to drink it in your room.

As for the Stones. Have seen them numerous times as well. Last time, in July 2003 at the Stade de France. Superb stadium, great atmosphere. Can%26#39;t wait.

ANY hotel within your price range located near the SAINT MICHEL-NOTRE DAME RER station (located at the intersection of quai Saint Michel, quai de Montebello and rue Saint Jacques at Petit Pont across the Seine) for the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne trains will be a convenient choice.

For what it%26#39;s worth (if most convenient transport to Stade de France is a high priority) the HÔTEL du PANTHEON will be within easy walking distance of the SAINT MICHEL-NOTRE DAME RER portion of the large Saint Michel station complex. The HÔTEL SAINT CHRISTOPHE will probably be a short Metro ride away, farther down near the PLACE MONGE Metro station on the #7 Metro ligne and probaly require Metro to CHATELET, then a CORRESPONDENCE through the huge Chatelet-Les Halles Metro/RER station complex to the RER %26#39;B%26#39; or %26#39;D%26#39; ligne train platforms to Stade de France.

Appreciate the responses that i have recieved, but some more questions!

From the latin quarter how long on the metro to the state de paris.

How much roughly from CDG to the latin quarter area for four people + luggage.

Any idea what the weather is likely to be in june.

Does anybody know of any hidden jewels regarding restaurants/bars in the latin quarter area.

Apologies for all these questions but whilst we are in paris we will be celaebrating our 25 anniversary as well.

Noticed on another heading that it will cost around 55 euros for transfer from airport to hotel.

We stayed recently in the Hotel le Senat which is a nice hotel especially if you select a deluxe room or a suite (prices 250 -320 negotiable). The Hotel is just 5 minutes from the Luxmbourg RER station, very conveninet for both CDG and the Stadium. Generally the Odeon - St Germain area is very typical french - parisian, with charming atmosphere. We had diner in Le Temps Perdu, Rue de Seine which is a typical french restaurant, fairly good with reasonable prices.

We liked more two other restaurants, Chez Paul, near Place d%26#39; Italie and Chez Andrez in Rue Marbeuf 12. I recommend both of them if you like french food.

Have a nice trip.

Hi goamike, I have organised a few days at Henri IV Rive Gauche hotel in the Latin Quater in May and they have organised a shuttle service for 2 of us from CDG. The cost is 18 euros each person, each way. I didn%26#39;t think this was too expensive, especially as it will get us into the city quickly and once there we can orientate ourselves and get used to the metro.

Hope this is of some help for you.
