January Sales

When are the sales in January 2007? Also, would love to hear about any bargains you saw if you were in Paris during the sales.

The big semi-annual sale periods--SOLDES--take place in January and again in July each year. Like any %26#39;..sale..%26#39; there are bargains to be found...if that%26#39;s what you%26#39;re looking for...or you know it when you see it. We once purchased a set of china at Le Bon Marché that worked out to be approx 1/3 of what we knew the best sale price to be in the US--even after shipping costs were added in. It was one of those rare %26#39;too-good-to-be-true%26#39; occasions that actually worked out.

The soldes (sales) are typically held mid-month in January and in July. Almost all shops and stores will have red %26quot;Soldes%26quot; signs on their windows. BHV had a great handbag sale last July, but due to lack of space I passed up buying something.

Do a search on the subject for people%26#39;s experiences. Dates for next year%26#39;s sales have yet to be published.

The process for the Soldes is that each week the prices are marked down a bit more. If you wait long enough you can get some seriously steep discounts. The trade-off is that the Dior cashmere sweater for $25 is only available in lime green and in size XXXS.
