La Californie area of Cannes

Hello,

We are considering renting a villa located in the La Californie section of Cannes, but we have concerns about the distance from the beaches and city center.

Is this a walkable distance? Are the hills really steep? We will not have a car, but may rent scooters. (We are in our 30%26#39;s in good physical condition)

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks for your help!

La Californie is walkable up hill 1-2 km but not really %26quot;handy%26quot; for the Croisette. If its a beachlife you are after there will be many more suitable appartments to rent closer to the front.

NiceLife,

Thank you for your thoughts. We have found another villa across from Port Canto/Bijou plage on the Pointe Croisette. As far as we can tell from maps of Cannes, this seems to be a very good location. The villa is described as being %26quot;on a small private road running up to 106 La Croisette%26quot; What do you think?

106 Boulevard de la Croisette is the very far end of the Cannes front , far away from the Palais des Festivals, virtually on the Port de Cannes and the Bijou Plage. Its close enough without being directly on the main drag where all the plush hotels and private beaches. Youd have a brisk walk to the railway or bus station, and the central area, but if thats OK with you I think its fine.

Cheers

Andrew
