I arrive in Aix-en on Fri noontime and will leave for Nice Sat evening or Sun morning. I would like to know if a bicycle or maybe moped would be good enough to see the surrounding area or maybe go to another town(avignon or arles). I have heard within a few km%26#39;s is the countryside and all that. I would like to see that if it is worth it and maybe one other town but if the other towns are not very different than Aix-en then I don%26#39;t care much. THX so much.

Cycling around Aix is a year round sport. To the north of Aix, near Rognes is road cycling country (a few cycle lanes to help keep the French drivers out of your way) and the famous Mont St Victoire is mountain cycling country. There are some extremely serious cyclists as well as families riding around. Nice to pack a bottle of local wine, some goats cheese and some bread in your bag for a lunch under an olive tree!

Biking is a very good idea, parking in Aix being very difficult.
