Must see/ do things in Lyon

I am going to Lyon in May for work and am planning on coming in early and spending a weekend there first. I am keen to know the top activities one must do there...not really keen on museums and the like (seen enough really) but do like outdoor activities or something different . Is there an open bus tour there, what are the main attractions? is there anything near Lyon that would be worth going to /seeing, wineries, country villages etc.

Appreciate any help provided.

Eating is a great outdoor activity in Lyon!

Or indoor, for that matter! Walking, as in

Paris, will provide you with all kinds of

treats...especially the old streets, etc.

Notre Dame above the city provides a great

view and a hike! You%26#39;ll find plenty to do!

It%26#39;s kind of like Paris was 50 years ago!

Enjoy!

Thanks Mignon. Appreciate your response. I am currently studying photography also so hopefully it will be a good base to take some cool pics.

Since you%26#39;re into photography...you must check out the %26quot;squinches%26quot; and %26quot;mullions%26quot;...in

the old part of the city! And all those alleys! You%26#39;re not going to want to leave!

Have fun!

thanks again. Any suggestions on some %26#39;moderately%26#39; reasonable accommodation in the town - I dont want to slum it but not pay over the odds either. I am booked into a hotel for work but it is too far out and would rather stay in town when I have my free time?

Have stayed at the Royal each time I%26#39;ve been

to Lyon...love the rotunda rooms but they might be a bit pricey. There have been people

posting re hotels in Lyon...search %26#39;hotels%26#39;..

The closer you are to the Place Bellecour the

closer you are to everything...but there have

to be charming places in the neighborhood.

Try: Colbert 4 r.Archers; Elysee Hotel, 92 r.

V.Hugo; Artistes, 8 r. G.Andre; all without

restaurants but that%26#39;s no problem. You%26#39;ll find others in Old Town, too. Enjoy!
