1st time to France! Paris or Nice, what should I do? want...

What do you suggest? Visit Paris and then Nice at some other time?Or vice versa. I%26#39;m planning to go in January 2007. France is really reasonable during that time, there are a lot of bargains!! Hotel is costing me the same at either city. I am thorn!!! Need advise!!!! Thanks...

paris, no doubt. There is so much to do in paris. I didnt find all that much to do in Nice. But paris will have everything you would want to see and more.

In January Nice will be quite cold, though possibly sunny. Way too cold to enjoy the beaches. And quite a few places in the area will probably be closed too.

Paris weather in January is not that different from NYC - perhaps a few degrees warmer, but also a bit more %26quot;damp%26quot; in feeling, if not actually rainier. But you can get lovely crisp clear days too.

Paris is wonderful at any time of the year, but January is a great time to visit, especially for the first time, as you will not be fighting tens of thousands of other tourists everywhere you go.

Yes, go to Paris - and go to Nice in May or June or September.

If you search the forum archives probably just using January as your keyword, you will find lots of threads on Paris in January.
