distances from town to town

Does any one know if there is a way to know the distances between towns in Provence. You look at a map and it seems close but not really. is there a web site out there? Thanks!

www.viamichelin.com

www.mapppy.com is also good

You%26#39;re right to see that distances between times are often not as close as they seem on a map! Much depends on the road used--driving on the main roads and autoroutes can go very quickly, but the lesser roads require more time, sometimes considerably more time if you get behind a farmer on a tractor.

We just got back from holiday in Nice yesterday. Its beautiful. Monaco/Monte Carlo is 40 minutes away from Nice. Cannes is 50 minutes from Nice. Both by bus. Unfortunately they are in opposite directions so we opted for Monaco and Monte Carlo which were well worth a look.

Im just back yesterday!!

The best way to travel between each place is train. Its cheap, quick and on time! Nice to Monte Carlo is 30 mins, Nice to Cannes is 30 mins.

i`m going to nice for a weekend in july, whats the best way to get from the airport to the promenade,also is the train station easily accessible to get to both monte carlo and cannes?

|||

Best and cheapest way from airport is bus 98 to downtown. Fare is 4 euro and keep your ticket as it is good for the rest of the day.Most trains stop at Monte-Carlo.

|||

Almost all of the hotels in Nice are within at most a 15 minute walk of the station. For the timetable see www.regionpaca.fr The timetable needs careful study as many trains do not run on certain days or out of the high season and there are long gaps between trains at certain times.

Thanks for your replys, i am really looking forward to visiting Nice. There is just one more question which i forgot to ask, are all the eating and drinking places as expensive as ive been told? (will i have to raid my piggie bank)!

|||

No, you can pay as little or as much as you like, just as you would anywhere else, most restaurants display prices on boards outside.The restaurants along the Promenade are the most expensive, there are also several good snack shops etc. where i normally grab a lunch for a few euros.
