Honeymoon

Hello, I will be in Aix-en-Provence this June for my honeymoon and we will be staying in Aix as our base. Can anyone provide some ideas as other places we should visit and explore during our 7 day trip in Provence? Thanks!

Rent a car and drive to Carry-Le Rouet, having reserved a table for lunch at the %26quot;Mange Tout%26quot;. Get there early, park up, and walk to the left of the bay to see wild and wonderful views of the sea, building up your apetites.

Day 2

Drive to Marseille, park at the Vieux Port and take a boat to any of the small islands.

Lunch in Marseille : a bowl of Fish Soup called Boullabaise, Dinner in Marseille (by the port) at the resto called %26quot;504%26quot; great Cous Cous

Day 3

wander round the food market in Aix (the main one is on Tues,Thurs, and Sat)Grab a coffee at the Grillon on the Cours Mirabeau and watch the %26quot;Aixois%26quot;

Lunch at resto called Charlotte (reservation needed)

Day 4

Drive to Lourmarin and discover a quaint provençial village and eat as well as you can afford! If you can drive further into the famous Luberon for even nicer villages (Gordes, Goult...)

Day 5

Wander round Aix to see the 17th century architecture to the north of Cours Mirabeau

and 19th century just to the south (area is called the Mazarin)Dinner, slice of Pizza at Pizza Capri.

day 6

Hike up the Mont St Victoire and take in the views that Cezanne did some years ago.

We will be staying at Hotel Aquabella in Aix-en-Provence. It was not easy to pick, but we knew we wanted to stay somewhat within the city so that we could walk around on the days we were not travelling. We used multiple websites (Trip Advisor being one of them due to the reviews of hotels) in order to sift through hotels in the towns. I did not go by the advice in guide books because they only advertised about 5 hotels, when in fact, there are obviously numerous hotels to choose from. Try TripAdvisor, Expedia, Orbitz, any of those websites will give you names of hotels in the town and descriptions with pictures. I hope that helps!
