shuttle advice anyone?

We arrive for our first visit to Paris next Saturday, were going to take a taxi from the airport but now my husband is considering a shuttle...our hotel suggested Golden Air

Has anyone used them? Or Paris Shuttle?

Bt the way thanks to everyone for all the advice...this is a great forum...I am afraid I have worried about every little thing...I%26#39;m staying away from those %26quot;scammer%26quot; topics!

I have only taken a shuttle once on my %26quot;too numerous to count%26quot; trips to Paris and the service was excellent (regretfully I do not remember the name).

However with so much to consider when traveling, why not simplify and take a taxi. You%26#39;ll be very tired upon arrival and if this is your first time, the ease and convenience will more than make up for any small marginal expense.

We just returned from Paris April 13th. We used Golden Air TO the airport. Great service! Punctual, pleasant, reliable.

We did make the reservation months in advance, and we confirmed the reservation via email a couple days before we left U.S. In addition, we had the hotel call Golden Air the day before we laft Paris to confirm our pick-up time. We simply wanted to make sure that everything was on track.

We highly recommend Golden Air. If you tell them that you saw their recommendation in Rick Steves%26#39; travel guide, they give you a discount. happy travels, ton amie

Silvermoon, since there are two of you, I would take a taxi from the metro as a shuttle is unlikely to be cheaper (and in fact the taxi will probably be cheaper), could take longer if there are others to drop off and getting a cab at the main cab ranks at CDG is not a problem. The official taxis at the ranks will not rip you off.

Hi Silvermoon - I dont know what got into me typing metro - I meant CDG airport

Another vote for a taxi. I dont think the small savings are worth the added layer of complexity of a shuttle. For one person yes but for two a taxi is the best option IMHO.

We took a Taxi Parisien FROM Charles deGaulle. After an 8-hour flight, we didn%26#39;t want any frustration waiting for a shuttle. It cost around 50 euros to Paris with our taxi. We simply found a taxi stand outside the airport doors. In Paris you don%26#39;t wave down a taxi, you must wait at a proper taxi stand.

When we left Paris, we took Golden Air. We figured curb-to-curb service was the way to go out of the city as well, but for a lesser price....but at a price of only 38 euros TO deGaulle Airport.

Thanks everyone! We arrive by US Airways...from Steves book it looks like that is Terminal 1...after the security etc stuff we go through...do we just make our way outside of the terminal? Taxi Parisien...is that what it says on the sign on top of the Taxi?

|||

Exactly...simply look for the word TAXI above the exit door to the sidewalk.

The vehicle has the words Taxi Parisien on the roof of the taxi.

Do NOT accept a taxi from someone who may come up to you in the terminal and ask if you need a taxi. These are not official taxis and at best will rip you off ,at worst could be dangerous. Just follow the signs to the taxi stand for official taxis.

Thanks again everyone!
