I%26#39;ve never shopped at Duty Free...do you have to show an airline ticket? Are the prices really that much better?

Depends, really - if you live in Europe and are travelling within Europe there is no such thing.

Depends on the shop. If it%26#39;s a duty free shop, prices usually are a bit lower than in stores, and in most cases you have to show your ticket. If it%26#39;s a shop in the airport(eg.Swarovski, Mont Blanc etc.) prices aren%26#39;t lower and usually showing your ticket isn%26#39;t needed.

Thanks for the info!

Yes make sure you do your research...
When you arrive check the prices...then when you are out in the city do the same...i found some stuff was others were about the same.

Duty free denotes not paying taxes on your purchases.
As stated, Duty Free doesn%26#39;t save you any extra within the European Union. The true benefits of Dufy Free kick in the Caribbean islands (US side) where if you do your homework before hand, you can get great deals.
DFS is the biggest one of the bunch ( I believe ) and belongs to the Miller family-- world renowned, they have a big Asian following. I don%26#39;t recall seeing any DFS stores at the European airports this trip (but then I wasn%26#39;t looking for them).

Are you from Alaska? and live in Italy?
If you fly from Alaska and go to say LA airport one has to show a ticket to get duty free! I find that the prices in the SeaTac airport for French perfume are sometimes on sale! They must turn them around and can not have them sit on the shelves long. I also find good buys at the SF and LA airports and also when I go to Mexico the airport duty free shops there have good prices I have not been to France foe a couple of years so it might have changed. But the prices for me were good then.
Do not buy American perfumes in Paris they are about 4-5 times as much as in the USA. %26quot;Head Over Heels%26quot; which is one of my favorites was so expensive I could not believe it!!!
Do try Catherines.
