St Chinian

Hello everybody

A friend of a friend has a place in St Chinian - I have never heard of it and I cannot find very much info about it - has anybody been there and what did they think about it and why? How long would you stay for?

Hope you can help? Thanks for your responses!

We have stayed there a couple of times. Once in a village about 10 km away for a week, and once in St Chinian for 3 days. We really enjoyed it both times, and would go again. It is a great place for wine tasting, exploring the surrounding countryside - which is really nice - the sea to the south and hills around St Chinian. There are some nice historic towns to visit, and Montpellier is close as well. Depending on what you enjoy doing you could spend a couple of weeks there - if you enjoy spending time in the country you will like it, but if it%26#39;s the bright lights of the city you are after it is maybe not the place for you. It is a fairly small town, but does have all the shops etc you would need. There is a very nice restaurant in the main street - doesn%26#39;t look much from outside but you walk through and find a lovely garden at the back - best meal we had on a three week holiday. There is a website at http://www.ot-saint-chinian.com/, and some information about wine in the area at http://www.saint-chinian.com/index2.html - sorry if you have seen these already. If you do go you would need a car to get around.

Hope this is helpful
