Made in France Items to buy-Vuitton?

Wondering what French products are great shopping buys e.g I have lusted over Louis Vuitton bags.

I purchase one or two bags each time I go to Paris... which means that I%26#39;ve purchased a lot of them! A CD, LV, Gucci, or Chanel bag will never be cheap, but will always be a great purchase! You have two options: Either a depot-vente for a used bag (or, a brand new one, if you get lucky as I did in December!) or the store whose name is on the bag.

Merci for the response. Where is there a depot -vende ? Is there the problem with knock-offs with purchases other than the brand store? I do enjoy classic investment pieces so an alternative to the brand store sounds like a pocket book-appealing option .

BJJones: Here is a copy /paste reply that I gave a couple months ago.

My favorite is Depot-Vente du 17e on rue Courcelles. In March, I bought a brand new Dior bag (the limited gambler series) for 300euros less than at the CD store. A depot-vente is either on or off: merchandise comes in constantly, but not all of it is brand new. Wealthy Parisiennes bring their items - some never worn, some worn a few times, some looking slightly banged up - and receive $$ for them. The day that I was there, several Chanel bags, Hermes ties, and assorted designer labels were on sale. You%26#39;ll have to look carefully at the item(s) that interest you, but a good deal can be fantastic! Check in a local tourist guide for the names of several other depots-ventes or degrifee shops. Some of them are excellent, a few aren%26#39;t worth the trip; but it%26#39;s all an adventure!

When you get to Paris you might want to pick up the 2006 edition of %26quot;Paris pas cher%26quot; (Paris on the cheap) which will list every dépôt-vente and similar store in the Paris area. It%26#39;s in French of course, but you should be able to get the information you need from it even if your French is limited.

Of course you could just grab a copy off the shelves and make a couple of quick notes of the addresses that interest you. That way you can save the approximately 15€ purchase price and spend it on more LV...

But you wouldn%26#39;t do that, would you?
