confused about which hotels to stay in Paris, please help

Hi

Can someone suggest a family friendly hotel for 2 families with 4 adults and 4 children. We have been looking at staying in the Louvre area so we can walk and experience Paris and want good restaurants, cafe and bakeries nearby.( The latin quarter is okay too but maybe too noisy)

No.1 criteria-convenience, comfortable clean rooms.

What do you think of RElais du Louvre, Hotel st. Paul, Hotel Danemark, Citadines-Louvre?

Would any of them be ideal? has anyone had any interesting experiences there? Or do you have better suggestions? I saw a few from previous posts and was helpful but still confused.

thanks

Hotel Danemark is nearer Montparnasse than the Louvre, but it looks very nice to me. You can walk right into Jardin de Luxembourg, the transportation connections are good, and there are plenty of places to eat. It just isn%26#39;t very close to %26#39;sights%26#39;.

Citadines are more like efficiency suites, and employ the use of %26#39;sofa beds%26#39;, not sure if those are real comfortable or not. I think the most favored location is in St Germain.

There are 2 Hotel St Paul, one in Marais, and one in St Germain.

I don%26#39;t know Relais du Louvre other than I%26#39;m pretty sure someone on Fodors has posted about it, liking it.

Have you considered the recently popular Hotel Henri Rive Gauche in the 5th? I don%26#39;t recall anyone complaining much about noise, and it%26#39;s an exellent location.

Relais du Louvre is a great hotel. Wonderful, helpful staff. Fantastic location. They respond quickly to e-mails with all your questions answered. We will be there for two weeks in June but I have been corresponding with them since booking in July and really can%26#39;t say enough good things about the time they have taken to make arrangements for us, answer loads of questions, etc.

e-mail address is contact@relaisdulouvre.com

website is www.relaisdulouvre.com

You can also check website for parisby.com for this hotel and others by district. Lots of pictures.

thank you so much, that parisby site was a great help and I think we are going to choose relais du louvre.

any tips on versailles palace visit?

is it better to get a day pass there or buy tickets there?

When are you traveling? How old are the children? There are earlier discussions on Versailles that I found informative and will look at again, too We are also planing on going there and I believe the Museum Pass does not cover the State Apartments so you need to pay extra on those which I gather are a don%26#39;t miss. have a great trip.

Holger: The museum pass does in fact give you access to the State Apartments (Apollo, Mars Salons, etc. and the Hall of Mirrors. These are also known as the Grands Apartments). It does NOT include access to the King%26#39;s Chambers, and there is an additional charge for the audioguide to the State Apartments.

Thanks for the clarification. It is helpful information.
