Beating the queues

Hi,

Does any one have any tips for beating the queues at the Eiffel Tower and Musee du Louvre.

Thanks

Go as early as possible.

Eiffel tower: you can also go at night, not as crowded as day tourists have left.

Louvre: even if you have a pass you will have to go through security.Do not use main entrance at pyramid, enter via stairs on the sides of Arc de triomphe du carrousel.

The lines at the Louvre aren%26#39;t that bad. The Eiffel Tower is brutal. If you are going in the Spring/Summer months you will need to get there AT LEAST an hour before the tower opens.

Consider a Museum Pass -- that was our secret. You can buy them at some of the larger subway stations or at a less popular attraction. You will still have to wait in line to get through security, but it is a much shorter line. Also, for the Louvre which is so large, it was nice for us to be able to break up our visit over a couple of days.

In total we may have paid a couple of extra euro for the Museum Pass versus the cost of the individual tickets for each event, but the envious looks when we walked past the unbelievably long line and right into the Musee d’Orsay were worth it.

Hi,

Is there anything about the Museum Pass on line, I%26#39;ve had a look but cant find anything.

Thanks

Just do a search with %26#39;museum+pass%26#39; on this forum and you%26#39;ll pull up lots of threads.

I also topped a thread for regarding the pass with the new pricing.

Eiffel Tower: book a meal at Altitude 95, gives you line passing priviledges.

Effiel Tower , arrive early in day( before 9 ideally) and WALK up the stairs. The line up for the stairs is shorter and moves fairly fast. We walked to second level and then my sone took the lift to the third( top) level. You can purchase you ticket to go to the top from the second level. We waited about 15 - 20 minutes on the ground, and about 5 ,on second( waiting to go to the third) .

The Louvre, we just entered from the Mall ( off Rue Du Rivoli) and used the ticket machines. No more then 5 minutes waiting. did this twice each time quick and easy.

Entereing around early dinner time ( about 5 to 6 ) for tourists, and the lines were almost non existant. I think people go back to hotel to clean up for later dinner , so it is quiet from about 5:30 to 7:30 or 8.

Hi,

There%26#39;s an interesting site about this topic, it%26#39;s called %26#39;The queue-buster%26#39;s guide to the world%26#39;s greatest masterpieces%26#39;. It%26#39;s worth giving it a look:
