Availability of larger size diapers?

I have read somewhere that it is hard to find larger size (4s or 5s) in France because french children are potty trained earlier than US kids. We are traveling to france (provence and paris) in a couple of weeks with our (as yet not fully trained) 2 1/2 yr old. Do I need to bring a full diaper supply?

You are correct that the French do potty train their children much earlier than we do in the US but you should have no difficulties in obtaining appropriate size diapers (brand names are also the same, Huggies etc.). As in the US, the best prices are at the big box (grand surface) centers, i.e. Auchan, Carrefour, Giante, etc.

If you have a little girl (particularly), you may want to find an inflatable potty (a plastic bag is placed over an inflatable cylinder which becomes the potty). Easy with which to travel, we found one of these for our daughter and it became indispensible.

so can I get larger size diapers in provence as well as paris? I really would hate to carry a suitcase full of size 4 diapers!
