Single Woman travelling in Paris

I%26#39;ll be spending the weekend in Paris, on a break between meetings. What are your suggestions for day trips outside of Paris or things to do in Paris? I enjoy art, gardens, walking. Thanks.

Paris is a great place for single women. If you have the weekend in Paris, I would stay in Paris! I%26#39;m sure lots of locals and travelers will chime in with things to do, but here are some of my thoughts.

Since you like art, gardens and walking -- I would suggest on Sunday, in particular, walking around the Marais where most shops are open, unlike in other parts of the city. Go to the Picasso Museum in that area -- it%26#39;s fabulous.

On Saturday, walk through the St. Germain area on the Left Bank. Have a drink outside at a cafe. Have dinner at a brasserie that catches your eye. You could also walk through the Luxembourg Gardins.

Or you could skip St. Germain, spend some time at the Louvre and walk through the Jardin des Tuileries to the Place de la Concorde.

There are many things to do in Paris...and it%26#39;s generally a safe city for women, as long as you keep your eyes open for pickpockets.

Have a great time!

Combine your love for art and gardens with a visit to the Rodin museum. Much of the sculpture is in the gardens round the villa - and there is a decent café.

Do go to the Sainte Chapelle if - as I surmise - this is your first visit. Go when the sun is shining. It%26#39;s incredible!

So many museums, but you probably won%26#39;t want to stand in long lines with so little time. A Museum Pass for two days will allow you to by-pass ticket lines at the Louvre, d%26#39;Orsay and Pompidou museums and many other places. There are literally dozens of other museums - Picasso, Carnavalet, Marmottan, Cognacq-Jay, Andre Jacquemart, Cluny, and on and on - all more than worth visiting, and most probably less crowded than the %26quot;big three.%26quot; Google will help, as will this site:

The %26quot;hot ticket%26quot; in Paris right now is the Bonnard exhibition at the newly-reopened Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris.

As for gardens, I like the Jardin du Luxembourg beter than the Tuileries, but that%26#39;s a matter of taste I suppose.

Walking? Paris is a wonderful city to walk in - just about anywhere. And a wonderful place to sit and have a glass of wine on a cafe terrace. And a wonderful place to throw together a quick picnic and sit by the river or in one of the gardens to enjoy it. And a wonderful place to eat, whether in a famous 3-star restaurant or a little neighborhood bistro that isn%26#39;t in any of the guide-books.

Have a great week-end whatever you do! I%26#39;m sure you will.
